Universal Studios Hollywood announced 2014 “Eyegore Award” recipients, honoring top achievements in the horror genre. The theme park celebrates opening night for Halloween Horror Nights, Friday, September 19.

As a bonus, 500 Halloween Horror Night fans will be invited to attend the coveted Awards, when they purchase special add-on tickets.

2014 “Eyegore Award” recipients include multiple Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker and Special Effects Make-Up Supervisor Greg Nicotero (“The Walking Dead,” ” Sin City:  A Dame to Kill For,” “Breaking Bad,” “Pain & Gain,” “Django Unchained,” “Predators,” “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “Piranha 3D”), with the award presented by Chris Hardwick, host of AMC’s “Talking Dead,” and Robert Kirkman, Creator and Executive Producer of “The Walking Dead” and “Outcast.”

Award-winning filmmaker and Founder/Chairman of El Rey Network, Robert Rodriguez (“Sin City,” “From Dusk Till Dawn,” “Machete,” “Grindhouse”), will also be honored, accepting the award presented by prolific actor, producer and last year’s “Eyegore Award” recipient, Danny Trejo (“From Dusk ‘Till Dawn,” “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” “Machete” franchise).

Renowned filmmaker John Landis (“An American Werewolf in London,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”) will accept the award, presented by one of his closest collaborators, seven-time Academy Award®-winning Special Effects Make-Up Artist and previous “Eyegore Award” recipient, Rick Baker (“American Werewolf in London,” “Men in Black,” “The Wolfman”).

Celebrated Grammy® Award-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist SLASH will also accept the “Eyegore Award.” Hailed as one of the 10 best guitar players of all time by Time magazine, SLASH will also release his new album “World on Fire”- with his band featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators – on September 16.

Immediately following the presentation, SLASH, who composed an original score for the “Clowns 3D Music by SLASH” maze, will be joined by Myles Kennedy, to perform the title song from “Nothing Left to Fear,” the first-ever motion picture he co-produced from Slasher Films, his film/TV production company.

McKenzie Westmore, host of Syfy’s “Face Off,” will serve as emcee, celebrating “Eyegore” for a third consecutive year.

Add-on tickets will be available to the first 500 fans who purchase online (http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/2014/eyegore_awards.php). One-time front-of-the-line access to the Terror Tram will also be included, with purchase of separate admission tickets.

Terror Tram is themed to definitive horror properties by the honorees, including Walking Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, and American Werewolf in London. Universal’s most popular rides and attractions will also be open to guests, including “Transformers:  The Ride-3D,” “Jurassic Park – In the Dark,” “The Simpsons Ride” and “Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride.”

Dates are as follows: September 19, 20, 26, 27, October 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, and November 1, 2, 2014.
